The Portrait Machine has been created by Artist/Illustrator Amy Pennington it is inspired by her love of drawing, performance and fun. Standing inside the machine Amy interacts with the audience as people queue, wait and smile – she draws their portrait. Audience members receive a receipt while Amy makes lo-fi SFX and their portrait is delivered out the side of The portrait machine (via Amy's hand). People are offered the opportunity to be drawn singularly, in couples or as a group.
On average a individual portrait (with fun banter) takes 3 to 4 minutes this works out as 15-20 portraits per hour – couple's and group portraits will take longer.
Fear not my friend! We have devised a lucky dip scheme which can be used as wedding favours ...and the best bit... it's a great talking point round the table.
Amy will attempt to instagram and facebook photographs while she is in the booth - as she is busy she may not have much time do this so we highly recommend using a hashtag #paul&rebecca2017 and also encouraging your guests to take a few snaps. It is possible to hire our assistant who will make sure these images get to social media and will be emailed to yourselves.
We are based in London.
Our standard package is charged at £850 this includes 2 hours of machine time, set up set down, drawing cards, photographs of portraits instagram'd with your personal hashtag, vintage 'admit one' tickets, and travel included within a 8 miles radius of central London.
